When it comes to chocolate in Belgium, it takes a lot to impress my sweet tooth and palate. One chocolate-cafe caught my eye, though! Galerie Ganache has been around for some time in Ghent, located at the side of the staggering St. Bavo’s cathedral.
This sleek shop is part gallery and part cafe-chocolate shop. It’s a chic space with an inviting front terrace to watch the city go by if the weather is on your side (and lately it has been!). The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in is the glass display with hundreds of round chocolates neatly lined up by flavor. It’s impressive, but choosing is truly the hard part!
Chofleur, a Belgian based chocolate company, provides 36 flavors in cute bite-sized chocolate with pure tastes and flavors. You can buy individuals or by the box: 9, 21, 36 for a super unique gift. The tastes and flavors are sumptuous and go great with coffee. (Once a month you can also enjoy brunch on the weekends.)
This isn’t just a chocolate or coffee shop, though! If you wander downstairs, you’ll find a gallery of impressive exhibitions that change every two months or so. The collections are a range of international pieces.
